The rocking horse is well balanced, when a child is positioned on the horse it is slid forward to hold onto the handle to secure themselves well.  This helps to prevent them to sit back too far.  There are no foot rests, as child's leg muscles are strong, it could give them the ability to force rock the rocking horse, which is not advisable at any time.  As the child grows, their feet will eventually reach down to the rocker bow, at which point they then will have control to move the rocker across the floor. (Especially carpet - this is really "cool" )

Also, there are no stringy fibrous materials to allow a young child to choke on, as well as no padded seats to get sliced up or torn.  Our rocking horses are a very durable friendly riding toys.  All are precut, finished, assembled, safe, sturdy, and water-resistant.  The colors are non-toxic stain-like impregnated finishes.  The color/finish is brown - wood tone stain with a hand rubbed natural oil finish.
